The full address is

The telephone number from the UK is    0033 (0)2 41 92 73 44    (use this number from a UK mobile even if in France). On the French telephone system the number is  02 41 92 73 44   In the event of an emergency dial    0033 (0)7 70 70 23 79 which is a mobile carried by Lynne or I at all times.

If requested we will send you a route map, laminated on A4, from your chosen ferry port to La Foie when you confirm your booking. Or, of course, you can cut and paste the route you need and print it out at home.

The SatNav co-ordinates are:

Lat: 47.70401        Long: 1.11135 (best check this is correct, it seems to move on it's own!)

Please Note: French road numbers are frequently changed. So where we refer to, say, the N171, you may now find it's marked as the D971, or indeed, some other number. It's best to follow the town directions than road numbers.

Blatting on French roads

From Calais, Boulogne or Tunnel:

From the ferry port take the A16 towards Abbeville.

When you reach Abbeville turn right onto the A28 towards Rouen.

At Rouen carry on at the end of the motorway, through the tunnel, and keep on the dual carriageway and join the A13 towards Pont-l'Eveque and Caen.

After about 5 miles take the A28 towards Alencon.

Continue on the A28, past Alencon to Le Mans.

At the end of the A28 you will come to a very large junction with the A11 and the N138. Turn right onto the A11 towards Angers.

There are 2 ways from here. The first is probably the quickest, the second a better blat.

1)

At the next junction take the A81 towards Laval.

At junction 3, take the N162 towards Laval and go anti-clockwise around the ring road.

Turn off the ring road at the N171 towards Craon and Pouance.

At Pouance drive into the town centre (centre de ville) and when you reach a tee junction, (the road markings at this junction take you to the right) turn left towards Segre.

Take the first right towards Armaille (D182) and follow the road into Armaille, over the river towards Noellet keep going for about a kilometer (.6 mile).  La Foie is on the right just past where the hedge starts and a row of Christmas trees run at right angles to the road.

2)

Continue on the A11 towards Angers.

At the junction marked Durtal leave the motorway.

At the roundabout after the peage take the 3rd exit toward Lion D'Angers. Follow this road through Chateauneuf-sur-Sarthe to Lion D'Anger. At the end of the road, turn right, following the sign "Autre Directions". Turn left at the first roundabout and then the first exit at the second roundabout towards Rennes. You will be on a dual carriageway and the next town is Segre. At the end of the dual carriageway keep straight on, over the bridge to the next roundabout. Rejoin the dual carriageway following the sign to Rennes. Keep on the dual carriageway, past the small roundabout and keep going until you reach the turnoff for Armialle/Chaze Henry. Go 3/4 round the roundabout at the bottom of the slip road and under the dual carriageway. Then go straight over the next roundabout to Armialle. At the bottom of the hill you will follow the road to the right and arrive at the Bridge in Armialle. Turn left over the bridge and follow the road around the front of the church and leave Armialle towards Noellet. About a mile on from the edge of Armialle there are a row of Fir trees at right angles to the road on the right. The entrance to La Foie is just past this on the apex of the bend.
